FULLER CENTER FOR HOUSING OF PUTNAM COUNTY, INC.
est. 1988

Our Story
Once upon a time, in 1988, the Putnam County Habitat for Humanity established itself in Greencastle, Indiana. Within the next 25 years, they were able to build 13 homes before becoming inactive in 2013. When the organization brought in a new Executive Director, David English, in 2019, he was determined to bring our services back to the community with a bang, building a brand new home for a family of 3 (that has grown since completion!) Though the process was lengthy, juggling COVID restrictions and volunteer hangups, the build was completed in 24 months -- volunteer-built, and eco-friendly!
Unfortunately, as the years passed, our expected contributions to the Habitat organization became more than a small-town non-profit could afford, and required more than we could manage with help. With our community's current needs in mind, we decided to change our affiliation to the Fuller Center for Housing in 2024. With this transition, we've gained a new range of assistance options, including but not limited to: the ability to work with trailers and trailer parks! As an organization with a focus on supplying affordable and, importantly, safe housing, this was an exciting avenue to begin exploring with the community!
That is only one of the amazing pros of our affiliation change. Imagine what else we could do with this loose leash! When it comes down to mission, our stance has not changed. We are a faith-based, non-discriminatory organization with a focus on safe, stable, and affordable housing to the Putnam County community. Do we stay in Putnam County? No! We've serviced Bainbridge, Roachdale, Fillmore, and other neighboring counties that will work with us. Anyone who needs help, wants help, or is just curious about us is welcome to give us a call or email with details about your situation/question. We would love to engage with our community and talk about what our organization can offer!
Our Future
We have big dreams, such as transitional housing, which would keep families together during periods of homelessness and provide them with the skills to save money, obtain a job, handle addiction, and more. Our community is our family, and with every job we hope to nurture a happy, safe environment for anyone who may come for help. We are firm believers in kindness, change, and growth.

While small, we are mighty, and hope to continue to grow and share this opportunity with anyone in need for as long as we can! We are determined to thrive in our community, regardless of size, and depend on your support to keep us going.
